Looking for a Comedian in Los Angeles, may re recommend...

Grace White...

Grace WhiteCheck out who's talkin' bout Grace White...

You rock, Grace!!!
– Richard Pryor

Hire this woman!!! I have, and she’s damn funny.
– Neil Leiberman (The Comedy Coach®)

Not just funny but such an original voice! Very few comics ALWAYS make me laugh like Grace does. Richard Pryor is right again!
– Karen Rontowski, Comedian

Grace White is a symphony in contradiction, a blur of reluctant energy and a compulsive workaholic entrepreneur who stubbornly maintains her title of World's Laziest Woman. She's also a successful single parent (her daughter's never been to jail), and has earned a solid reputation for herding aspiring comedians through their performing puberty. Grace may not be the last of the hippies, but she is surely one of the most entertaining.

She may bill herself as "That Old Hippie Chick", but she looks more country club than communé. Classy, blonde, and caffeinated, Grace White is in constant movement. A perpetual motion machine, she blazes through comedy world. Even when she's walking, she's on the road. It's no wonder she calls herself "a transient with an act." She's no slacker, that's for sure.

For someone who only started performing stand-up seven years ago at age 49, when she became an empty-nester, White has come a very long way in a short time. She's opened concerts for 3 Doors Down, Jefferson Starship, and Jethro
Tull. She's shared the stage with Father Guido Sarducci, Kevin Pollak, and Will Durst. She's performed at Comedy Celebration Day before thousands of Bay Area fans, appeared on The Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Telethon and ABC's "Good Morning America," and played a role in "The Independent," a film starring Jerry Stiller and Janeane Garofalo.

Last year, she created a revue called Women Who Kick Comedy Butt (WWKCB), featuring funny females from all over the world. "I see WWKCB as a win, win, win, win, win for myself and other females, no matter what direction it takes. More good female comics (which more stage time produces) means more good comedy shows, which means more for all female comics and more for comedy as a whole. My dream, which has already begun with concerts in 2006, is to have a full-blown concert tour, with a revolving lineup, where comics can have their own careers while also participating in WWKCB shows when convenient to them." Can a network show based on this boomer's life be far behind?

Robin Roberts ...

If you want to know what's funny about cramps, parents with emotional problems or working as a birthday party clown, just listen to Robin.  She'll tell you everything! With lyrics that read like pages from her diary, or a reporter's dispatch from the frontlines of life, Robin's unflinchingly honest and unsentimental songs are funny because they don't try to be - she tells the hideous truth. And, for Robin, the hideous truth is funnier when you sing it!

Roberts also delivers stinging political commentary, with songs like Pretty (about Princess Diana and Mother Teresa) and Tertosterone.

"Her timing is dead-on, with an oddly endearing New York edge that sharpens her live act."
– Pasadena Weekly

"Robin shamelessly exploits her personal life in song, just to get attention."
– Metro L.A.

She created and starred in Cinemascoop, a pilot for Showtime.  She was a writer/voice performer for the Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 radio show, creating the internationally syndicated character, Patty the Depressed Clown. She also wrote comedy for the CBS Morning Circus radio comedy service, and Premier Radio.

Roberts' self-produced stand-up show, which ran for eight years in Los Angeles, garnered four Comedy Picks of the Week from the L.A. Weekly, and two "Best Bets" from the L.A. Times.

Robin graduated from the Warner Bros. Sitcom Writers Program.  She hosted and wrote the theme song for the Canadian-American Women of Comedy Tour, which raised money for victims of domestic violence.  A veteran of such benefits, Robin says, "If men would stop beating up women, maybe I could get some paid work!"

Roberts spent a month on the island of Malta teaching stand-up comedy to the Maltese.  The result was the first stand-up comedy show in Malta's 5,000-year history, which she hosted.  She doesn't want much, just a plaque on some ruins that says, "Robin Roberts: She brought the Catskills to the Mediterranean."

Jane B...

Jane has been performing comedy off and on since 1994. “I take a lot of naps,” she tells the open mic comedians who gasp in horror when they hear she’s been performing that long. Honing the craft as a dealer in Vegas, no,not drugs; blackjack & roulette, she had several punters tell her she was funnier than comics they’d just seen at a show. “I wasn’t trying to be funny, just saving myself money in therapy. I’ll pretty much talk to anyone who’ll stand in front of me. It doesn’t necessarily mean I like you; I’m just lonely, needy & bored."

Presently Jane can be seen at a number of clubs in the Bay area of Northern CA. She has performed in Las Vegas, NV., Phila., PA, New York, NY, Los Angeles, San Diego, CA., & Oregon, just to name a few!

In Atlanta, GA,
Jerry Farber

Nationally-known comedian and pianist extraordinaire, Jerry Farber is #1 in Atlanta entertainment circles. He is the city's most recognized and acclaimed performer, entertaining for over two decades. Jerry stars at local and national comedy clubs, and various charities and corporate functions all over the country. His style is inspired by the jazz and comedy greats -- Dave Brubeck and Errol Garner to Woody Allen and Mark Russell. Fans have voted Jerry One of the Top Five Celebrities in Atlanta along with Ted Turner and Lewis Grizzard in an Atlanta Constitution/WSB Radio Poll. He was elected Entertainer of the Year by Atlanta Magazine three times in recent years and Favorite Storyteller by Cobb Magazine.

His unique style of hip piano finesse and warm-blooded humor endears him to fans. Best of all, he personalizes each performance, weaving his audience into each routine. He performs at a near exhausting pace that leaves a crowd roaring at his Georgia Redneck routine and mesmerized by his music. He had a successful eight year run at his own night spot. On doctor's orders, he made it a non-smoking club that attracted international recognition by Business Week, The New York Times, The London Times, CNN - Sonya Live, and an entry in the Encyclopedia Britannica as the World's first non-smoking night club.

Jerry is a local TV and radio personality in his own right, much as his brother Barry, the nationally syndicated New York radio talk show host. Jerry even ran for Mayor of Atlanta twice in the tradition of Pat Paulson, finishing third, twice behind none other than Andy Young and Maynard Jackson. As Farber is fond of pointing out, "A guy like me could never run for office in a country like China or Syria or Chile or. . Mississippi". Jerry devotes countless hours to charity work. He has been recognized by the Lung Association as their Man of the Year and Variety Club of Atlanta for Humanitarian of the Year. Business audiences are among his favorite challenges. "I am best at breaking the ice and energizing a room, and the checks are always good."

Jerry has a best selling book Sex, Wealth and Power: How to Live Without Them. This glib, irreverent collection of Jerry's humor is available in bookstores throughout the country.
